![]() Technology Notebook Computers Top Notebook Computers For Entrepreneurs Notebook computers are no longer fancy toys; the new notebooks are powerhouse business tools ready to compete with or even replace your desktop computer. Notebook computers have larger screens, better connectivity, and more memory - and they give unbeatable mobility. Unchain yourself and do business wherever you are whenever you're ready with one of these top notebook computers. 1) Acer Aspire 1802WSMi Notebook Computer This 3.0GHz Pentium 4 notebook has 512 MB memory, an 80 GB hard drive, integrated 10/100 Ethernet LAN and wireless connectivity, DVD-RW/CD-RW drive, and Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system. But what I really like about this one is the 17 inch active matrix display. The bigger the screen the better when you're working on complex business documents - or watching a movie. Features and a reasonable price make this my top notebook pick. 2) Toshiba Satellite A75-S206 Notebook This notebook, too, has a large screen (15.4 inch), which boosts productivity in itself. And this one, too, is reasonably priced and has very similar features to my #1 notebook top pick; a 2.8GHz Pentium 4 processor with 512 MB memory, a 60 GB hard drive, an integrated 10/100 Ethernet LAN and wireless connectivity, and a DVD/CD-RW drive. If you can live with having the Windows XP Home edition O/S instead of XP Pro, this notebook will fill all your business needs. ![]() 3) IBM ThinkPad R51 Notebook Computer IBM's ThinkPad R51 is a deservedly popular notebook choice. It has all the features that any user finds essential, such as the speed and power to run any business applications, a 15 inch screen for a big bright display, Windows XP Pro pre-installed, a CD-RW/DVD-ROM and Ethernet and wireless connectivity. It also has a better battery life than most (4 hours) and an embedded security system. Power without eyestrain make this a true desktop replacement notebook. 4) Sony VAIO PCG-K23 Notebook Computer Like the Acer Aspire 1662WLMi, this notebook is designed for both work and play. The 2.8GHz Pentium 4 processor gives the speed and power for working on complex business documents, made even easier by a 15.4 inch screen. The full-sized ergonomic keyboard is slightly slanted to provide a better hand and wrist position. The package includes a 60 GB hard drive, Ethernet and wireless connectivity, and a CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive, and both Windows XP Home Edition and Microsoft Works pre-installed. 5) Fujitsu Lifebook S6210 Notebook Computer What I really like about this notebook is its flexible built-in bay. As true notebook mobility depends on battery life, it's great to be able to have the option of putting in a full work day by swapping the DVD/CD-RW combo drive with a second (optional) battery module. What I don't like about this notebook is its small screen (13.3 inch). However, if you can get used to this, this notebook's other features make this a great road warrior. 6) Apple Powerbook G4 Notebook Computer You're either a Macintosh fan or you're not, but the Powerbook G4 has all the features any mobile business person could want, including a CD-RW/DVD Superdrive, and Ethernet, wireless and Bluetooth capability. It also has an excellent battery average run time of 5 hours. Being a Mac, you'll find this notebook is pricier than others on the list. |
